Dow tanning agent in the running for R&D award

25/09/2017
A product in the Leukotan range of tanning agents, Leukotan A-1942, is one of 20 innovations from the Dow Chemical Company that are in the frame to be included in the top 100 innovations of the year in the 2017 R&D 100 Awards. The list will be unveiled in November at the R&D 100 conference in Orlando.

Leukotan A-1942 was one of a number of products that Dow decided to submit for the awards this year because, in the words of the leather chemicals manufacturer, it “facilitates the production of chrome-free leather by improving the efficiency of the entire retanning system”. The technology offers a combination of cost savings and environmental benefits, including improved quality and a waste reduction of up to 75%.
