Leather Pipeline: Are autonomous vehicles good news for leather?

The report says the importance of the design and functionality of a vehicle’s interior would increase should responsibility for the driving be taken away from its occupants, offering leather a good opportunity.
“If the passenger cell becomes just a mobile living room, there are plenty of chances for the leather industry to become part of it,” it insists.
However, the report cautions that an increase in autonomous vehicles could also have a negative impact on leather demand should renting become more commonplace among consumers.
