Arzignano’s ITS launches ‘green leather manager’ course

15/09/2017
ITS Galileo Galilei in Arzignano, a specialist technical education institution for the leather industry,  has announced a new two-year course aimed at preparing students to become ‘green leather managers’.

The course is aimed at people leaving high school who are interested in a career in the leather industry. It consists of 2,000 hours across the two years, with 60% of that time in the classroom and 40% working in local tanneries. Half of the classroom contact will be with academic staff and half with industry representatives.

Course organisers said on announcing the development: “Our aim is to give our young people a technical qualification that will prepare them to carry out research and development of sustainable products and processes for leather manufacture.”

The course starts in the third week in October and students have until September 25 to sign up to take part.
