World Leather Congress takes place in Shanghai

ICT president, Richard Pai, said on welcoming delegates from the global industry that he thought it was particularly appropriate for the congress to take place in China, following previous events in Brazil in 2011 and Italy in 2015, because growth in the sector in China in recent decades have transformed it into “the most dynamic region in the global industry”.
Mr Pai said the industry faces considerable challenges in the years ahead, but he insisted the industry also has opportunities to prosper. He said: “Leather is not just another type of textile and should not be treated as though it were.”
