Adient makes automotive interiors acquisition

Automotive seating group Adient has signed an agreement to acquire Futuris Group, a designer and manufacturer of automotive seating and interior systems with 15 factories in North America and Asia. The purchase price will be approximately $360 million.

Michigan-based Futuris has Tesla, Ford and General Motors among its customers in North America, and Geely, Chery and Brilliance on its client-list in Asia. It provides full seating systems, seat frames, seat trim, headrests, armrests and seat bolsters.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of September.
