Senior EU official in talks with PLGMEA

17/07/2017
The head of co-operation at the European Union’s official delegation in Pakistan, Bernard François, recently held a meeting with the Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PLGMEA) and discussed the possibility of EU funding for a new project to help leather garment manufacturers develop the skills of the sector’s workforce.

Since January 2014, Pakistan has benefited from having Generalised System of Preferences (GSP)+ status in its trade with the European Union, which means most exporters should be able to ship their products to EU member states duty free. Developing workers’ skills and improving the quality of finished products will help PLGMEA members take advantage of GSP+.
