Qatari group prepares to sell majority stake in Le Tanneur
French leathergoods group Tolomei has confirmed its intention to become the majority shareholder of Le Tanneur, a leathergoods brand currently owned by the Qatar Luxury Group.

For an investment quoted at €10.8 million, Tolomei is preparing to acquire just over 50% of the capital of Le Tanneur, leaving Qatar Luxury Group with a stake of 42.6%. Tolomei has described the move as a “recapitalisation and growth plan” for Le Tanneur.

Le Tanneur has been making high-end leathergoods in France since 1898. It currently has 50 own-brand boutiques in France and in some overseas locations. It also has a presence in around 80 department stores and in 300 multi-brand leathergoods retailers.

Tolomei is a much newer company, having formed in 2004. It produces and retails leathergoods under its own brands, Renaud Pellegrino and PK-214.
