Curtain comes down on 2017 Freiberg Leather Days

22/06/2017
After two days of interesting presentations and discussions, the 2017 Freiberg Leather Days drew to a close on June 22.

The event took place in Oisterwijk, Netherlands, the first time it had been held outside of Germany.

The second day of the event saw presentations on the properties of different fatliquoring products when applied to wet-white tanned leather, the balance between leather chemical exhaustion and effluent discharge, and the use of innovative active cross-linking agents in leather manufacturing.

There were also talks about the use of enzyme technologies in leather making, how cationic esters can be used to create high performance leather, and the way in which chemical polymerisation can be used to create conductive leather.
