Photo contest first prize goes to Portugal

As part of the second phase of the ‘Leather Is My Job’ project, COTANCE and its social partners asked people in the industry across Europe to take part in a photographic competition, depicting work inside European tanneries today.

Overall winner of the competition was Branca Fojo from Marsipel in Portugal, with Ginevra Ganu from the Newport tannery in Italy in second place. There was also an award for Andrei Vesa from the Vesa leather company in Romania, whose entry won a public vote on social media.

The organisers received 62 entries from 18 different tanneries in six countries.
