Record quarter for Tesla

04/04/2017
Specialist electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla delivered just over 25,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2017, of which 13,450 were its Model S sedan and 11,550 were the newer Model X cross-over SUV.

“This was a new quarterly record for us and represents a 69% increase over the same quarter in 2016,” the company said.

Such was the boost these results gave to Tesla’s share price that the California-based automotive brand passed the market capitalisation of Ford and came close to that of General Motors soon after the announcement.
