Mexican packer and tanning group Sukarne has said growth of its business in Asia means it is looking forward to taking part in the 2017 edition of the APLF exhibition in Hong Kong (March 29-31).

Manager of its hide and leather division, Ángeles Mendoza, said in the build-up to the exhibition: “Our business is growing rapidly in the Asian markets and the fair in Hong Kong provides Sukarne with an ideal forum to meet our expanding customer-base and discuss new business opportunities.”

Sukarne currently produces over 8,500 hides per day, at five different production facilities in the northern and central Mexican regions. All the hides are transported daily, fresh in refrigerated trucks to processing plants in León, Guanajuato, where Sukarne’s technical team oversees quality standards and specifications.

The company is compliant with accredited programmes, such as ISO, Ecco leather standards and the Leather Working Group.
