Former Gucci exec joins Benetton board

Italian fashion brand Benetton has added James McArthur, a former vice president of the Gucci Group, to its executive board. 

Mr McArthur has extensive experience in the luxury industry. He joined Kering-owned Gucci in 2000 and assumed responsibility for the group’s strategic multi-brand development. He played a key role in the launch of the Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen brands during his seven years there.

During the same period, he served as president and CEO of another brand owned by Kering, Balenciaga. He also spent 10 months as CEO of UK-based luxury department store Harrods.
