New Bauce model promises cutting yield boost

Tanning machinery manufacturer Bauce is another to have a contribution to make to the new trend of helping tanners make the best of lower-quality raw material, in the form of a new setting out machine, the MC4 RCE.

This new model has an auto-roller function that flattens hides effectively and allows tanners to disguise defects. “What the machine does is close the grain so that the defects are not so obvious,” said Mauro Massignani, a member of the Bauce team that presented the MC4 RCE at Tanning Tech in Milan in February.

Mr Massignani confirmed that the machine is already being used in tanneries in Brazil, Turkey, China, the UK and Italy. “The difference in the quality of the leather is incredible,” he added. “This improves the cutting area, which improves yield. We have seen increases in the cutting area of up to 6% thanks to this technology.”
