Chrome ore prices lead Lanxess to second price hike since November

01/03/2017
Leather chemicals manufacturer Lanxess has announced a further increase in the prices of its chrome chemicals by up to 10% with immediate effect. This follows an earlier increase in prices in November 2016.

Lanxess explained on making the announcement that its leather business unit had been forced to take this second step by a “further and sustainable increase in market prices for chrome ore”, the main raw material for the production of chrome chemicals.

All related product groups are affected, including sodium dichromate, chromic acid and basic chrome sulfate (which Lanxess markets under the tradenames Chromosal and Baychrom).
