Changes in China dent growth for Audi
Automotive brand Audi delivered around 124,000 cars to customers in January, which represents a decline of 13.5% compared to the same month last year. Audi said the situation in China was the main reason for the decline.

The company explained that it has worked with its Chinese partner FAW to put a new long-term, strategic growth plan in place for China for the coming decade. “Against this background, dealers had planned a restrained business volume at the start of the year,” the company said. It said it is confident the new strategy lays the foundations for “sustained profitable growth in the years to come”.

Demand in Europe continued to rise (by 3.1% to 61,800 units) and in North America shipments rose by 11.8% to reach 16,200 units. However, sales in China fell by 35.3% to 35,181 cars.
