Brazil’s beef industry reported an increase of more than 10% in export volumes in January. Shipments to China more than doubled to reach 18,200 tonnes.

In the first month of the year, Brazil’s packers exported 107,400 tonnes of beef compared to 97,300 tonnes in January 2016, giving a year-on-year rise of nearly 10.4%. The increase in revenues was higher at 14%; January shipments this year brought in $418 million.
