06/02/2017
Packer and tanning group Tyson has reported the best start to a company year in its history, with first-quarter revenues of almost $9.2 billion and profit for the three-month period of a record $982 million.

These figures represent a flat performance in terms of revenue, but an increase of 27% in profit.

New chief executive, Tom Hayes, said on announcing the results: “The year is off to the best start in company history with record operating income and record cash flows. Tremendous returns generated in the beef and pork segments are providing fuel for growth. We’re on a path toward what we expect to be our fifth straight year of record results.”
