06/02/2017
European industry body COTANCE is to represent the leather sector in a new multi-year project aimed at analysing “emerging occupations in a digital environment”. Called Digital TCLF 2025, the project launched in Brussels at the end of January.

With four other project partners, COTANCE will work out plans for equipping workers with “the appropriate skills and competencies” to be able to “embrace the digitisation” of value chains in Europe.

“Digital TCLF 2025 will focus on forecasting future impact in terms of European employment and strategic development of the textile, clothing, leather and footwear sectors,” COTANCE said after the launch, “identifying gaps and drafting new training programmes.”

It will run until November 2018.
