Viposa inaugurates Nova Andradina tannery

Brazilian tanning group Viposa held a formal ceremony to inaugurate its new wet-end tannery in Nova Andradina in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul on January 20.

Senior representatives of the local and state authorities attended the event with Viposa president, Eduardo Seleme and the manager of the new facility, Adriano Resende.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Resende paid tribute to support that Viposa has received from the authorities in setting up the new tannery. He also paid tribute to Nova Andradina’s potential, calling the town “a strategic logistical location” for the beef and leather industries.

The new tannery will have a production capacity of 120,000 hides per month, processing them to the wet blue stage, and the tannery will create 400 new jobs.
