Major change at Waalwijk leather and shoe museum
19/12/2016
Board members have announced that they want the facility to have “a fresh and new impulse” to complete a move to a new site in the centre of the town, traditionally the Netherlands’ main leather- and shoe-producing location. Mr Blok has run the museum since 1988.
“The board of the museum thanks Wim for all his efforts,” it said in a statement. “In the last decades he has been responsible for many interesting exhibitions and projects.”
On January 15, the museum will close. The plan is to re-open it in its new location in 2019. There will be temporary exhibitions throughouth Waalwijk in the interim period.
