South Korean company Dae Chang Corporation, which earlier this year celebrated 30 years as the agent in the Asian country for tanning machinery company Cartigliano, recently celebrated a similar milestone with Massachusetts-based leather chemicals manufacturer Union Specialties.

In early December Dae Chang Corporation’s president, HY Chung, travelled to New England to celebrate the anniversary by taking part in the US company’s Christmas party. At the event, Union Specialties president, Bill Greene, said he was delighted Mr Chung had gone to the US for the celebration. “I’m proud to have been associated with HY Chung for the past 30 years and I’m very thankful for his help in establishing excellent customer partnerships in Korea,” he added.

For his part, Mr Chung said representing Union Specialties was “difficult to begin with” because, when Dae Chang Corporation began representing it in South Korea, it had no presence there. He said it also took time for his company to put across effectively to Korean tanners the quality of Union’s products. But, 30 years on, he said he was pleased to have grown the business and felt “lucky to have met such good and sincere people”.
