Leather research body to establish university link

Both organisations have agreed to work together. SSIP has said it hopes working with the university will allow it to deepen its research programmes and attract new researchers to the leather industry. For its part, Naples Federico II said it hoped the arrangement would help its students and researchers gain valuable knowledge of the manufacturing sector and business in general.
Also based in Naples, La Stazione, as (SSIP) is usually known, was set up specifically to address the needs of gloving leather producers in the region to have a body for research, testing and technical assistance. Its facilities include its own small tannery, which it uses to run tests and pilot projects on behalf of tanners all over Italy.
