First phase of “biggest handbag hall” opens
London-based department store Selfridges has opened the first phase of what it says will be the biggest “handbag hall” in the world, part of a refurbishment project at its flagship store in the English capital’s West End.

The project is in the hands of London-based David Chipperfield Architects, who confirmed on November 23 that the first phase of the new Accessories Hall was open to the public. It will be 2018 before its work at Selfridges is complete.

Leathergoods brands that have taken up space in this first phase include Valentino, Balenciaga, Gucci, Chloe, Mulberry, Chanel, Burberry, Céline and Saint Laurent Paris.
