Performance chemicals growth for Lanxess

Leather chemicals manufacturer Lanxess has reported revenues of just over €1.9 billion for the third quarter of 2016, down by 1.6% on the same quarter last year. However, its earnings before tax on this figure registered a year-on-year increase of 9.4%, reaching €257 million.

Lanxess said on reporting the figures that its focus was at “segment level” only and that it does not release the results of individual business units, including its leather business unit.

The leather business unit is part of the performance chemicals segment, which reported sales of €541 million in the third quarter of 2016, up by 3.2% year-on-year. Earnings before tax on this total were €91 million, an increase of 5.8% year on year.
