Brazil: shoe components export push delivers 34% growth

Footwear Components by Brazil, a programme run by industry body Assintecal and export promotions agency Apex-Brasil to boost overseas sales of Brazilian-made shoe materials, has reported a 34% increase in export revenues in the first nine months of 2016 compared to the same period last year.

Between January and September 2016, Brazilian footwear component producers achieved export revenues of almost $205 million, compared to $152 million over the same nine months in 2015. Companies participating in the programme have shipped their products to 77 different countries, with China, Argentina, India, Germany and Mexico as the most important export markets.
