Tuscan tanners take their story to Tokyo

It said its aims are to disseminate information about vegetable-tanned leather to new potential buyers and to consolidate the relationships its 22 member tanneries have in place already with Japanese customers.
The venue for the discussion forum will be the Italian Institute of Culture in the Japanese capital.
Speakers on the day will include Simone Remi, president of consortium and owner of San Miniato-based tannery Conceria Badalassi Carlo, and Paolo Testi, member of the consortium’s board and owner of the Conceria La Bretagna tannery in Ponte a Egola.
Specialist journalists based in Tokyo will be invited to attend a press conference at the event’s close.
