Volkswagen agrees $14.7 billion settlement in the US
Automotive group Volkswagen has won approval from a judge in California for a series of proposed agreements to resolve claims regarding Volkswagen and Audi vehicles in the US. In September 2015, Volkswagen became involved in a scandal over emissions testing results.

Media in the US have reported that the settlement will cost Volkswagen $14.7 billion; there are other outstanding issues concerning another group of cars.

The company described the development as “an important milestone in our journey towards making things right in the United States”.
