Italian brands to show new collections in Singapore

Sixteen high-end Italian footwear brands are to attend an inaugural event in Singapore on October 25 and 26, presenting their latest collections to local buyers, and also to potential new customers from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and Australia who have registered to attend.

Industry association Assocalzaturifici said in advance of the event that Singapore represents an interesting market for Italian shoe manufacturers because although exports to city state are worth less than €40 million per year at the moment, the average price that buyers there are paying for Italian shoes is €123 per pair.

Assocalzaturifici also pointed out that Singapore is also a shopping hub for a wider south-east Asian market that his home to around 500 million consumers.

The event, called ‘Singapore meets Made in Italy’, wil take place from 10.30 in the morning to 5.30 in the evening on each of the two days at the Fullerton Hotel.
