Chiara Mastrotto to build “dynamic network of relationships” in London
Italian tanning group Gruppo Mastrotto officially opened its new showroom in London on September 29, with representatives of high-end brands attending the event. The showroom, dubbed The Leather Fashion Hub, will have on display samples of a wide range of Gruppo Mastrotto leathers, which London-based designers and buyers will then be able to order and receive from Italy within 48 hours using the company’s Gruppo Mastrotto Express service.

Company president, Chiara Mastrotto, who travelled to London for the opening ceremony, said the leather supplier’s main aim is to become “a permanent, strategic partner” for existing and new clients. She explained that Gruppo Mastrotto is Europe’s biggest leather producer, having increased its turnover by 10% in 2015 to reach €462 million, €20 million of which the company intends to invest in industrial and commercial projects.

“We have a vocation for internationalisation,” Ms Mastrotto said. “The basis of our new Leather Fashion Hub is to make available to everyone working with leather in the UK, not only the tradition of Made in Italy and the expertise of the largest producer of leather in Europe, but also a specialised and tailor-made consultancy for any design need, creative development or new collection. We will also open up a dynamic network of relationships with young designers and fashion design institutes.”
