Audi announces opening ceremony for its first Mexican factory

The new plant will be Audi’s first in North America; the company will produce the new Audi A5 at the facility.
Audi said earlier this year that producing on the American continent will make it easier for it to fulfil that growth potential it believes it has there. It also said it intended to source around two-thirds of all required material to make the Audi 5 from Mexican suppliers at the time of starting production, pointing out that this was a good way of reducing the effect of currency rates on its financial performance.
