BASF remains optimistic about Asia Pacific

Chemicals manufacturer BASF has said Asia Pacific remains “the growth engine for the world”, despite a recent slowing down of growth, and that it continues to see “great potential” in the region.

BASF held an event called Roundtable Asia Pacific for investors and analysts in London on September 23. Its director for Asia Pacific, Sanjeev Gandhi, said the region is now “the world’s largest market for the production and consumption of chemicals”.

The company said it estimates compound annual growth for chemical production for Asia Pacific at 5.6% between now and 2020.
