JBS leaders to appeal judge’s decision to ban them
JBS has announced that brothers Wesley and Joesley Mendonça Batista intend to appeal against a judge’s decision to ban them from running the packer and tanning group following an investigation into alleged pension irregularities.

The company has described the bans as temporary. Wesley Batista was president and chief executive of JBS and Joesley Batista, chairman of the board.

In the meantime, the company’s directors decided after a meeting on September 13 to appoint José Batista Júnior as interim president and chief executive, and José Batista Sobrinho, as chairman of the board.

José Batista Júnior was president of the company for more than 20 years and has extensive knowledge of all group activities, JBS said on making the announcement.
