Organisers cancel 2016 Istanbul Leather Fair

The organisers of the Istanbul Leather Fair have cancelled the 2016 event, which was scheduled to take place in the Turkish city in November.

Organising company Arti, which has run the Istanbul Leather Fair for ten years, has said it hopes to hold the event again in 2017.

Commentators in Turkey have said that the last three or four editions of the Istanbul Leather Fair have been “disastrous” and that Arti has taken the step of cancelling this year’s event owing to a continuing drop in the number of tanning, finished product, machinery and chemical companies signing up to take part.
