British Fashion Awards widen scope

16/08/2016
The British Fashion Awards will have an increased international focus in 2016, with more categories open to oversees talent. Overall, 1 out of 16 awards will be open to international figures or brands.

Among the new awards to be presented in 2016 are urban luxury, an award focusing on streetwear designers, and creative influence, which will reward someone who works behind-the-scenes in the fashion industry. There will also be a Swarovski award for a brand or person who has used their profile to promote a cause outside of the fashion industry.

A panel of 1,5000 international fashion industry figures will vote on the shortlist for each category. The awards will be presented on December 5 at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
