New public consultation for COTANCE environmental footprint project

European leather body COTANCE has opened up for public consultation new work it has done as part of a wider European Commission exercise to measure the environmental performance of consumer products.

COTANCE has been engaged since 2013 in a project aiming to determine the environmental footprint of leather. This has involved studying, discussing and negotiating with representatives of other industries that have an interest in cattle and its by-products.

This public consultation will be the third in the history of the project. It will run until September 16.
