World Leather columnist is new ALCA president

World Leather and leatherbiz columnist, David Peters, was elected as the new president of ALCA (the American Leather Chemists’ Association) at the organisation’s 112th Annual Convention at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Originally from London, David Peters started his career as a hide trader. His role took him to the US in the early 1970s and he has lived and worked there ever since. He has deep knowledge of cattle breeds, slaughterhouse operations, hide removal, tannery processes and supply chain management.

On the tanning side, he has held senior positions with ConAgra, GST AutoLeather and Twin City Hide. He now runs his own consultancy, DLP Advisors, and is in demand as a consultant around the global industry.
