A tough life in the private jet sector
Deliveries of executive aircraft fell to just over 700 in 2015, compared to a peak in 2008 of 1,317. According to a recent article in the Financial Times, corporations that are cutting costs and reducing their employee numbers are cautious about spending millions on a new corporate jet. Companies that had fleets of four or five corporate jets at one time are now getting by with just one, or even none.

It also pointed out that, while most commercial passenger jets delivered last year were made by Airbus or Boeing, nine manufacturers shared the market for executive aircraft, making this segment “ripe for consolidation”, the FT said, quoting analysts.
