Bangladesh’s leather-sector export values for the first ten months of its current fiscal year (July 2015-April 2016) were flat compared to the same months in the previous financial year at $920.3 million. However, finished leather exports fell steeply to just under $230 million, a decline of more than 30% year on year.

Exports of leather footwear over the period fell slightly too, by 1.4%, to reach just less than $380 million.

Revenues from leathergoods exports were up by 62% to almost $315 million over the same ten-month period.
