Fully automated cars on the road by 2025, Audi predicts
Automotive group Audi has said it believes there will be fully self-driving cars on the road by 2025. Speaking at the compay’s annual general meeting in Ingolstadt on May 12, Audi chairman, Professor Rupert Stadler, said the company is already preparing for this.

In 2017, Audi will present the new A8 model, its first series-produced car capable of what it calls “piloted driving”. The car will have a traffic-jam pilot and will be able to drive itself temporarily on motorways at speeds up to 60 kilometres per hour. In this way, Audi said it will “cross the threshold” from partial to highly automated driving. Professor Stadler added that he is convinced there will be “fully automated driving” by 2025.
