Assomac group attends “memorable” papal audience
01/03/2016
Senior representatives of the organisation, including president Gabriella Bocca, Antonio Antoniazzi, Elisabetta Bombelli, Silvio Storti, Giacomo Vallero and Luigi Alberti represented Assomac at the event, which involved representatives of a number of other Italian industrial bodies.
A group of more than 7,000 people in all gathered at the Vatican for the event.
In a statement afterwards, Assomac said this was the first time in more than 100 years of existence that the group had received an invitation to a papal audience. In his address, Pope Francis urged them to put people and families at the centre of their businesses and not to discard the workers of tomorrow (young people) or the workers of yesterday (older and retired people).
