Why metal detectors could save tanners thousands

Ceia’s technology has long been in use in a variety of application areas, including airports throughout the world, but the company will now work with Equitan to introduce it to the tanning sector too.
Equitan founder and chief executive, Antonio Antoniazzi, told World Leather on announcing the development that he believes the biggest benefit to tanners will be the removal of any risk that a metal toggle accidentally left on a hide, might damage the next machine it reaches. He said he could easily imagine this causing €50,000 worth of damage.
