Sharp declines in Pakistan’s leather exports

All key indicators of the export performance of Pakistan’s leather industry, overseas sales of finished leather, leathergoods and leather footwear, registered sharp declines in the first five months of the current financial year, July-November 2015.

During the five-month period, tanners brought into Pakistan export revenues of $156.8 million, while the figures for leathergoods and leather footwear were $222.3 million and $39.5 million.

Compared to the same months in the previous financial year, these figures represent declines of 22.8%, 18% and 24.6% respectively.
