Held from April 26 to 28, organisers said the event supports the Gulf region’s $6 billion dollar leather market.
The debut show attracted 2,400 visitors from 66 countries and 86 exhibitors. Around 125 exhibitors are expected at the 2016 event.
The GCC produced $1.9 billion worth of leather, luggage, handbags, saddlery, harnesses and footwear in 2014, according to research firm Euromonitor, with Saudi Arabia ($1.1 billion), the UAE ($468 million), and Qatar ($250 million) the region’s big three producers.
