Bureau Veritas makes Italian acquisition in pursuit of growth in luxury markets

Testing, inspection and certification services provider Bureau Veritas has acquired CERTEST, an Italian testing laboratory, saying that it hopes the move will help it increase its share of the luxury market worldwide.

Established in 2004 and located in Tuscany, close to many of Italy’s high-end luxury leathergoods manufacturers, CERTEST provides physical and chemical testing services to international brands, assessing the safety and quality characteristics of leather, footwear, textiles and jewellery. It employs 32 people and generated revenue of €3.5 million in 2014.
