Silver for Smit & Zoon in CSR rating

Leather chemicals manufacturer Smit & Zoon has achieved silver-level recognition for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, following an independent assessment by EcoVadis, a Paris-based organisation that aims to improve the environmental and social practices of companies around the world.

EcoVadis has developed its own CSR ratings system, based on international standards and covering 21 criteria across four themes: environment, fair labour practices, ethics and fair business practices, and supply chain.

Egbert Dikkers, leader of innovation and sustainability at Smit & Zoon said on making the announcement: “Smit & zoon highly values sustainability and wants to play a leading role in making the leather value chain more sustainable. Therefore we are very pleased with this positive EcoVadis rating; it proves we are on the right track.”
