The leather industry’s representative body to the European Commission, COTANCE, has announced the date of the final conference at which it will wrap up the main findings from the the series of events examining the future of European leather that it is holding this year.

Three conferences in the series have already taken place, in Bucharest in April, Paris in June and Alcanena in October. The fourth will take place in Glasgow on December 10.

COTANCE said from the outset that it would bring the series to a conclusion with a final wrap-up conference in Brussels. It has now revealed that this final event will be on February 2, 2016. It has arranged the series in partnership with trade union organisation industriAll, which it refers to as its social partner.

On announcing the date of the Brussels meeting, COTANCE said: “The European social partners will present [in Brussels] a joint manifesto with conclusions and recommendations derived from the 2015 seminars. A high-level audience is expected with major stakeholders from the industry and officials from the European Community institutions. Participants will be able to contribute to the debate between the parties and will have opportunities for networking with a large pool of experts.”
