Aquazzura founder makes personal appearance in Florida

Colombian designer Edgardo Osorio travelled to the US in mid-November to promote his Aquazzura footwear label.

Mr Osorio studied at the London College of Fashion and then worked for Roberto Cavalli, Salvatore Ferragamo and Sigerson Morrison, but launched Aquazzura in 2011 after attending 12 weddings in one year and identifying fashionable women’s need for elegant shoes that are comfortable enough to dance in at the end of an evening’s revelries.

He has based the brand in Florence and says he is committed to helping preserve traditional Tuscan artisan footwear-making skills.

In October 2014 the Financial Times included Aquazzura in a select group of brands from around the world that it said fashion insiders already knew and loved but which deserved to come to the attention of a wider public.

To help achieve that, Mr Osorio signed up to make a special personal appearance at the Neiman Marcus store in Bal Harbour, near Miami. Guests were invited to meet the designer, sample cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and view the 2016 Aquazzura Resort collection.
