Cattle population in decline in Russia

A new report from the US Department of Agriculture has predicted that the cattle herd in Russia will decline by 1.5% in 2016 compared to this year. It says the number of cattle in Russia next year will be 18.4 million.

According to the report, beef demand is low in Russia owing to the weakness of the economy there and beef imports into the country are also in decline, falling by as much as 30% in volume between January 2014 and July 2015.
