Low skin prices make Eid al-Adha good news for Turkish tanners

Tanners in Turkey are set to benefit from high volumes of raw material becoming available at cheap prices at this year’s Eid al-Adha festival.

Industry commentators in Turkey have speculated that as many as 3 million sheep may be slaughtered there during the five days of the festival, which this year runs from September 23 to 27. And with prices at low levels of around $3 per skin, tanners are set to pick up good volumes of raw material.
