Italian company presents denim-effect leather

Italian leather research company Okinawa has launched a new dyeing and finishing technique for leather inspired by denim.

It claims that Denim Leather acts like denim cotton jeans, in that it ages and color shifts during washing.

Barrel dyeing provides a natural stone-washed effect, while finishing is carried out with variable intensity depending on the desired effect.

The process can be used on bovine, sheep and goat, and is suitable for a range of products, it says.
